After years in which Covid-19 held the world in its grip, in 2022 we again faced significant challenges due to the war in Ukraine. The influence on international trade in Europe was strong, disrupting logistics chains in particular; congestion in the port of Rotterdam, sky-high transport costs, long delivery times and even greater staff shortages. At the same time, nuisance from drug smuggling continues in European ports, where cybercrime in particular plays a significant role. This vulnerability is the result of the increasing digitization in the logistics sector. This simultaneously represents a relevant trend for an increasing threat of cyber-attacks.
