Family business Kloosterboer, founded in 1925, has almost a century of experience in the handling of conditioned foodstuffs, such as fish, meat, fruit, fruit juices/concentrates, dairy and potato products. With a worldwide storage capacity of 4.7 million m3 and an annual throughput of 3.5 million tonnes of food products, Kloosterboer is one of the market leaders in the sector. There are about 1000 employees working at Kloosterboer.

Kloosterboer offers innovative and sustainable total solutions in the supply chain for conditioned food products. The goal is to achieve significant operational and financial performance improvements for its customers. The cooperation with Secure Logistics was therefore a logical step for Kloosterboer. Jordi van Kogelenberg - Data Analyst explains: 'Secure Logistics is an important service provider in the container sector. "With the CargoCard, you can go to Rotterdam, Antwerp, Amsterdam and Vlissingen. With the CargoCard, we make the access process for our customers easier, safer and more privacy-friendly. Moreover, we can handle much more customers at Kloosterboer. That is a great capacity expansion.

Jordi continues: We are very pleased with the support Secure Logistics provides. The account managers are always willing to think along in solutions regarding software, or making activation points available. Secure Logistics provided an activation point at the terminal in Vlissingen and our people perform the activation work'.

ISPS location
The Vlissingen location is the largest of Kloosterboer's locations and it is an ISPS location. This means that every person who enters the location must be identified and registered by Kloosterboer. The collaboration with Secure Logistics has resulted in a considerable time saving. Jordi explains: 'The authentication of persons wanting access to the container terminal is now automated using the CargoCard from Secure Logistics. Previously, this was done at the office and took up a lot of our staff's time. Now that this part has been removed, we can deploy these people in other parts of our organisation.

Trucks no longer have to queue up. The CargoCard system shortens the process for the carrier by about 15 minutes, so truck drivers no longer have to go to the office twice to fill in forms. These administrative actions now run via the CargoCard, which saves an enormous amount of time.

The CargoCard provides faster access. This saves Kloosterboer time and manpower, while the carrier also saves a lot of time.

What makes Secure Logistics' system unique? "We use the Cargocard in combination with the Fingervein. This makes the CargoCard very reliable and rules out personal fraud. The system is truly watertight. That is very important to us. In addition, the stability of the system is incredibly high, and there are few errors with the system. That is really an advantage,' says Jordi.

How does Kloosterboer rate Secure Logistics?
Secure Logistics gets an 8,5 or 9 from Jordi, especially because of the communication and service. He explains why: 'The cooperation with account manager Jeroen Hoogstraten is great. He is always available to answer questions. This piece of service, cooperation and communication is very pleasant. You have direct contact, no call centre where you are sent from pillar to post. When will they get a 10 from me? I think that even more companies will have to join the CargoCard. Apart from Kloosterboer, there are two other companies in Vlissingen that use it. The more companies that join, the easier the process will become.
