Due to the tightening of security policy, from 1 June next drivers will only be able to access TMA Terminals Amsterdam with a CargoCard. This strictly personal smartcard gives access to more than 70 locations in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.

Earlier this year, TMA Terminals already introduced the CargoCard at its location in Amsterdam. In addition to the security aspect, the CargoCard also improves throughput at the location. The multi-purpose terminal handles thousands of containers every week, and good throughput is very important.

As an AEO and ISPS location, a sound security policy is also a priority. Désiree Bak, TMA Terminals, explains: 'We receive hundreds to thousands of drivers every week. Legislation and regulations require us to identify and register everyone for access to the terminal. A manual process is very time-consuming and also prone to errors. Thanks to the CargoCard/XS-ID solution, we have now fully automated this process. The majority of our drivers already have a CargoCard, so it was a logical step for us.

At TMA Logistics, CargoCards, Digital Safety Passports and PortKeys can also be activated.
