Secure Logistics BV develops, delivers and installs identity and access management systems in port and industrial environments in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.  In many of these environments the use of Fingervein scanners guarantees an optimal registration of visitors. With often thousands of visitors per day, the manual cleaning of these scanners is quite a job, but thanks to the recently developed UV-C light cleaning unit, the cleaning is fully automated.

Although various scientific studies show that the chance of virus or bacteria being transmitted via public equipment is very minimal, the units are manually cleaned several times a day by the locations. By using the UV-C light cleaning unit, it is possible to automate this cleaning. UV-C light eliminates 99.99% of micro-organisms such as fungi, bacteria and viruses.  This was the reason for Secure Logistics to develop a UV-C light cleaning unit for its customers.

Frank de Krou, Head of Commercial Affairs explains: 'All our new deliveries are fitted with this UV-C light unit as standard. So our customers no longer have to worry about cleaning the scanners. A sensor ensures that the UV-C light starts automatically after each operation. After more than 3 minutes, 99.99% of all bacteria and viruses have been eliminated'.

Seamless installation

The cleaning unit is suitable for demanding outdoor environments where a Fingervein scanner is built into the column.  We have designed the unit so that it is relatively easy to build into existing installations. Many of our customers are in business 24 hours a day. Thanks to the design of the unit, it can be built in without affecting the operation', concludes Frank de Krou.
