What do Gerard van der Hoeven, Ries Bode CBM and Cor Stolk have in common? 100% commitment to safe and sovereign data sharing for more efficient logistics chains!

The bits and bytes fly around when Gerard van der Hoeven (director iSHARE Foundation), Ries Bode (digicommissioner of Secure Logistics, iSHARE and chairman of digiGO.nu) and Cor Stolk (director Secure Logistics) meet. They recently spoke together about the need and opportunities for a data-driven economy with data sovereignty and interoperability as its foundation.

These terms seem more complicated than they are. Everyone knows examples of the same data being knocked from one system into another. Moreover, too much data is often shared without there being a need for it. This is not only inefficient, but also prone to errors and fraud. iSHARE and Secure Logistics are committed to organising this in a smarter and, above all, safer way.

The exchange of data stands or falls with trust. Who do you want to share which data with and what is allowed to happen to it? iSHARE has established a strong basis for the safe exchange of data between organisations. The legal, technical, operational and functional agreements of the iSHARE system have been carefully composed and are continuously tested in practice. More and more organisations are joining the iSHARE system to authorise each other's data.

Secure Logistics is the first iSHARE Identity Provider within the system to offer a so-called iSHARE compliant identity, the XS-ID. With this digital identity, the user determines with whom he shares which data on behalf of his employer. On the other hand, thanks to the XS-ID, companies and institutions know with whom and which organisation they are exchanging data. They can then attach rights and roles to it. This is the basis for trust and therefore also for secure data exchange within specific chains and sectors, such as logistics.

For the open Dutch economy, it is important to be able to share data internationally in accordance with European standards. That is why iSHARE is a partner of i4Trust.org, International Data Spaces Association (IDSA) and Gaia-X Association for Data and Cloud (AISBL), among others. iSHARE helps companies to become an accessible part of the international data-driven economy. And the XS-ID can also be used within this context.

The iSHARE system and XS-ID are already being used successfully to solve logistical data sharing issues. Want to know why your organisation can benefit from digital identities, data sovereignty and data sharing? Please contact us at sales@secure-logistics.nl, we will be happy to update you.
