Luuk Willemsen is HSEQ manager at Broekman Logistics. Broekman Logistics is a full-fledged logistics partner in supply chain solutions and has a strong global network. We asked him about his experiences with Secure Logistics.

What can you say about the cooperation with Secure Logistics?
'The cooperation with Secure Logistics is pleasant. The system allows visitors to get to the site faster, reducing the turnaround time at the terminal. For the access of our own employees, we have been using the Digital Safety Passport for three years. This gives us accurate access and attendance registration, without human intervention. This saves us a lot of work. For example, registering hired staff without the DSP takes a lot of time, so we would like them to use the DSP as well.

Training registration
For the registration of education and training, we still use our own system, but we are looking at an interface with the DSP to automate that further. That would mean that everyone who comes here would have to have a DSP and that is a challenge, especially with employment agencies. You always get a discussion about costs, while the gains can be made on both sides. It would therefore be good if all companies switched to it'.

Activation
'Activating the DSP is a point of concern. This is not due to the system, but we notice that not everyone reads the instructions given beforehand. Then, for instance, they only have a driving licence with them, so activation fails. We also think the number of activation points could be a bit higher. Maybe we will activate ourselves, but I will take that up with Richard Markus, our contact person. Contact with Richard is always easy and good and he always thinks along'.

Breakbulk
'In addition to the DSP, we also use Secure Logistics' CargoCard on site. Almost all container drivers have one, but not yet in breakbulk. That would be a huge win for us. Because the more we can automate the better,' concludes Luuk Willemsen.
